OSTIA ANTICA

Located at 30 km from Rome, near Fiumicino airport, it is an extraordinary archaeological site as important as Pompei. First harbour of Rome , in the past its streets were lined with shops, warehouses and inns. Its bars, brothels and baths were crowded with sailors and merchants from all over the empire. You'll get the flavour of an ancient Roman town with baths, a theatre, huge warehouses for grains and goods, a basilica, a synagogue, and various temples to the Roman gods.
